What Are You Really Looking For? | David Asscherick | Newday Adventist Church
Description
What are you really looking for? After feeding 5,000 men (possibly 20,000 people total), the crowd wanted to make Jesus king by force. They thought they'd found the military messiah they'd been waiting for. But Jesus had to do something unthinkable: he intentionally drove the crowd away. Using some of the most provocative, even offensive language imaginable—eat my flesh, drink my blood—Jesus forced people to confront what they were really after. Were they looking for earthly bread or eternal life? A political deliverer or the Son of God? Many walked away. Even the disciples were confused. But Peter's response is one of the greatest in all of Scripture: "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." This matters because we're still being co-opted today. The nationalist Jesus. The progressive Jesus. The conservative Jesus. The deconstructed Jesus. But there's only one Jesus that matters—the biblical Jesus. And here's the promise: you don't have to merely believe based on external evidence. You can know. Not just believe—but know that Jesus is the Christ. How? Because the Holy Spirit himself bears witness with your spirit, crying out "Abba, Father." When life gets confusing, when God seems silent, when you're frustrated or discouraged—where else will you go? Stay with Jesus. He is the Christ. You are his son. You are his daughter. And he's coming back. 📍 Join us at Newday Adventist Church, Parker, CO 🕚 Saturdays at 11:15 AM | 9030 Miller Road 🎥 Watch live or catch the replay right here on YouTube. #DiscoverJesus #BreadOfLife #FaithAndKnowledge #BiblicalJesus #ChristianFaith #NewdayChurch
