God intended Christians to comfortably understand biblical prophecy and to reach agreement on biblical interpretation. During the first eighteen centuries of Christian history, it was mostly so, whereas today some think certain books of the Bible—like Revelation—are incomprehensible. This week we explore principles that will yield a consistent and reliable understanding of prophecy. Jer. 29:23, 24; Ps. 139:1-6; Dan. 12:4; Rev. 22:10; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Heb. 4:12. " 'But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
