Description

God longed for His people to be distinct—a community of faith living under His loving authority. He gave them His law, not to restrict, but to reflect His character—His justice, goodness, and mercy. Judges would uphold it, priests would teach it, and parents would pass it down. Just as Pharaoh’s cruel laws revealed his evil heart, God’s law reveals His holiness and compassion. It shapes a people who honor Him, respect one another, and walk in righteousness. Far from being a burden, God’s law protects, blesses, and guides us into abundant life. It’s a mirror of who He is—and who we’re called to be. Exod. 21:1-32, Exod. 22:16-23:33, 2 Kings 19:35, Matt. 5:38-48, Rom. 12:19, Matt. 16:27.  "Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: "You have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. You shall not make anything to be with Me-gods of silver or gods of gold you shall not make for yourselves" ' " (Exodus 20:22, 23, NKJV).
