In Matthew 28:19, Jesus calls His disciples—including us today—to go out into the world and preach the Good News. Sadly, however, many Christians stay within the safety net of their own church because they think this is where ministry happens. This is not the example Jesus gave us. He frequently associated outside of the synagogue where he befriended prostitutes, tax collectors, young, old, rich, poor, and diseased. As such, he was called a friend of sinners.
