MELVEE BIBLE STUDY LESSON 07 This week we discuss Lesson 7 on the Series entitled Family Seasons. The lesson is focusing on THE KEY(S) TO FAMILY UNITY. 1. God’s plan for us was for our families to be symbols of the family in heaven. A place where there is no strife but everlasting happiness. Since the entry of sin, the original unity of the family has been continually threatened. Most homes have been invaded by troubles. Christ came to reconcile all humanity as one family to God (Eph. 2:13-16, Col. 1:21-23). It takes His grace to make a happy family. 2. Christ came to bridge this gap that separated families. Through the cross, Christ has tied us as one bundle, never to be broken (Eph. 2:11-22; Gal. 3:28). “The closer we come to Christ, the nearer we shall be to one another” (AH, p. 179). He must be at the center always (Rom. 6:4-7; 2 Cor. 5:17, Eph. 4:24-32). 3. Where there is love, there is unity (1 Thess. 3:12). Christ in His final days prayed His Father to bind His followers in unity with His “Agape love” (John 17:22, 13:35, 1 John 4:8). We can only have this love when we possess God’s Spirit (Rom. 5:5; 8:9, 11).
