Born in 1948, Black was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and earned degrees from institutions such as Oakwood University, Andrews University, and a Doctor of Ministry from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Known for his powerful oratory and deep spiritual insight, he offers daily prayers in the Senate, providing spiritual guidance to lawmakers and their families.
