Church Rules State? Legislate Morality? | Longshore’s Radical Theology

In this reaction video, we respond to episode 23 of the Of Flames and Crowns podcast, where guest Jared Longshore's radical theology promoting church over state ideology, and the enforcement of biblical principles through civil government, affirm that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled in front of our very eyes. Longshore suggests that only Christians have free will, effectively declaring that America is only the "land of the free" for Christians. He redefines the Great Commission to emphasize obedience over conversion, saying critics may compare it to jihad or sharia law—and that Christians should just "lean into it." He even states that religious leaders should hold political power, in that civil authorities should be excommunicated (and therefore removed from political positions) if they disobey church law. The ideal United States, according to his perspective, would legislate morality. We believe this vision is deeply dangerous and unbiblical. Scripture is clear that ALL people are endowed with free will, and God never forces conscience. He never says "obey or else." History shows us the dangers of church and state uniting—from persecution to war to silencing dissent.
